We are really enjoying her antics while she is here with us at Grey Haven. Cats are
still an issue though she may be workable, but she can handle the
little dogs as long as they don't get in her face.

Yes, we call him Biden but he told me he has no problem meeting some nice Republicans! Biden is a gentle boy who likes to play with the others but if the guys get too rough, he prefers to just walk away.

Pearl is a stunning little black girl who just turned two. She is a happy, bouncy greyhound who loves new adventures and will be the perfect meet 'n greet dog! She gets along with all the kennel kids and is on the welcoming committee for new humans and dogs! She has not made up her mind if she likes cats yet. Write a message to Black Pearl on her wall.

Bosley is a 7 1/2 year old boy who thinks he is 2 and a 1/2! He can be very playful. He loves to run and chase his toys and anyone who will chase him. He is also very gentle and can stand quietly by your side if you pet him. He loves people and he enjoys the company of other dogs.

Callie broke her hock on the track and had ortho surgery on the 4th of June. She has 8
to 10 weeks of crate rest and leash walking ahead of her, then her
new life can begin!! She is sweet and loves everyone! She gives the
best kisses and you can tell she is happy to be here.

Claire was born in Ireland almost ten years ago. She is black with a lot of white which we see often on Irish dogs. She was brought to this country to have pups and she did that! She has been waiting on a farm for about four years and now she has her chance to find that perfect home which she so deserves! This is a little girl with short legs who has no trouble keeping up with girls when they run to see who can find a squirrel. She is extremely sociable and very glad to meet new people. It's time she had a couch of her own.

Della had no desire to chase the lure and decided to take an early retirement! She is shy with new folks and new situations but now that she is getting comfortable here at Grey Haven, she loves to play with her kennelmates! She is one very sweet girl who will need a family that will give her the time she needs to settle in and blossom!

Dodgem is a very, very nice guy! He gets along well with all the dogs and loves when visitors come to the kennel. He has great manners and really loves his "person".

Flynn never raced and didn't ever get off the farm on which he was born. Until he came here to Grey Haven. Everything is a great adventure for Flynn and he is hoping that someday a wonderful family will fall in love with them and take them home so that he can continue to learn what it's like to be a big, grownup greyhound living with a family.

This lovely dark brindle girl is a ten year brood who does not look or act her age! She is a love ... plays nicely with the other girls and loves meal time! She is excited to meet all the visitors and would be thrilled to find a family of her own. While she likes all the other dogs she's met, she will not be good with cats.

Our Henry is one very special boy! He came to us from a place that
allowed him to be about 15 pounds underweight and have a raging urinary
tract infection. He is now on his way to regaining his weight and his
health. This is one of the most special doll babies we have had in a
long time. It is obvious that all he wants is a mom and dad who will
love him as much as he loves them! Henry can live happily with smaller dogs and cats. He can't live with dogs who may pick on him as he is a very gentle boy.

Iris is a 4 year old fawn girl with a black mask which makes her a stunning dog! She is very shy at first but is by no means a spook. She needs time to trust you and when she does, you will find a loving little girl who loves to have her belly rubbed and thinks you are really special. She may or may not be good with cats, we really can't tell yet! She does get along well with the boys and the girls and likes having greyhounds around her.

Ivan had surgery to fix a severely broken and dislocated hock. He is on the mend and in high spirits. He has been through a lot and he is looking forward to an adoptive home once he is well again.
|

He can be very shy, but once he trusts you, he is
fine. Jack's world belongs to the family he lives with. He would be a
perfect only dog for an older person.

Joanie is a 4 1/2 year old brindle girl who is one happy little girl! She gets along well with all the other dogs and even likes cats! You need to give her a day or two to warm up to new folks and then she is as bouncy and loving as can be. She would love a family of her own!

She is a brood who is almost nine and is through having pups and would love to have a family that she could call her own. She has a untreated broken hock that is probably years old. It does not seem to bother her and she has no trouble running and playing with the girls in the yard. This is a sweet little girl who will continue to blossom with her own family.

This sweet little brindle girl raced a full career and is oh so happy that she has a special family of her own. She is happier and bouncier than ever!

Lovely Letti is our Della's sister. They are turning two at the end of May, 2010. This little girl is extremely sweet and happy. She is sociable and appears to be comfortable around cats.

Lightfoot waited patiently on a farm for someone to fall in love with him and take him home. And he is a happy, happy boy now that he has found his very own human. He even got a new name - Syd. Say hi to Lightfoot (aka Syd).

Luna is an active, happy girl who loves to meet new people and thinks that life is one big adventure! She is one of those striking black greyhounds who have a stark white chest and no white on her face. Lovely!

Mandy is one of those furious tail-wagging greyhounds who finds every person irresistable!! She is great with the other dogs but responds immediately to people who come to visit the kennel.
|
|
|
Scooter never went to the track ... actually he never got off the farm where he was born. He came to us on Easter Sunday lacking all his social skills and had the brain power of a toddler. He lovesthe world ... everything is a great adventure for him and he is hoping that someday a wonderful family will fall in love with him and take him home so that he can continue to learn what it's like to be a big, grownup greyhound living with a family.

Silver is a delight! She is a tail wagger and she can't wait to meet new people. She likes both small dogs and cats and is a one of those friendly, happy dogs who doesn't jump all over you. This is one very special little greyhound!

Whisper is a loving, happy, beautiful little girl with some serious medical issues. Our hope his that we still have time to give her the gift of a home of her own.

This lovely red brindle girl, Eclipse, is just three years old. She is friendly and all of the kennel dogs are her friends! She likes all the humans she meets but she can be a bit timid at first. Eclipse needs a gentle family that will understand her and not expect too much of her at the very beginning.

Jackie is a 4 year old brindle girl who is through racing and ready for a couch! She is very active and will do best with a fenced yard.

Lilly has a great time with all the kennel dogs here at Grey Haven but is seriously interested in small dogs and cats. She will do best in a home without them.

In spring 2008, Dancing Bug broke her leg on a track in Birmingham, Alabama. She came down to Grey Haven to recover. Two surgeries were required to repair her badly broken leg, but she persevered through it all. Bug now lives with her new family in Tennessee.

Cheyenne is a little brindle girl with a huge heart!! She loves the world and is thrilled to meet new friends. She is perfect with the other dogs and is just a happy, happy greyhound.

Chickie has been waiting a long time for a home of her own. She is a brood mom and knows what she likes and doesn't like! She enjoys the company of the other dogs but should do well as an only dog. Daisy (formerly known as Mary) is another young brood who loves people and is happy surrounded by all her friends! She is gentle and has a very special sweetness about her.

Darren was born with a deformity of both front legs. It appears that his "elbows" are double-jointed. (that is not a real medical description but honestly describes what you see when you watch him walk). The condition has left him with no muscle mass in his front end at all and has forced him to walk with a strange gait. This amazing, shy, strange little girl took almost nine years to decide that humans weren't so bad and being petted was a good thing. We are so grateful she stayed to learn that, even if for such a short time. R.I.P Dodie, 2000-2009.

Megan is a lovely little brindle girl who is just two and a half years old. She didn't have much of a race career after waiting patiently for just the right home, she has been adopted!

Minnie came to Grey Haven from a shelter. She was totally petrified when we picked her up but it didn't take long to see that all she craved was some human kindness, but we can see her blossoming into a sweet, happy greyhound who is grateful to be safe, clean and comfortable.
