RoperRoper suffered a severe break in a hind leg while racing. He had his leg removed and spent time rehabilitating at Grey Haven as he learned to get around on three legs.

He was initially fostered by Jaimie Mann. Proving that no one can resist his positive demeanor and perfect house manners, Roper was adopted by Jaimie shortly after his arrival in his foster home!

Jaimie writes:

"It only took Roper a day or two to make himself totally comfortable in my home and work his way into my heart.  He is such a good boy and always starts my day off with a kiss before moving on to emptying the toy basket of all its treasures.  He absolutely LOVES going for walks, either around the neighborhood or at the park.  I am so grateful to have this amazing boy share my life; his joyful outlook on life is contagious!"

Congrats to Jaimie and Roper!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! To both Marilyn and Jaimie for taking care of our boy. I was with Mr. Roper the night he got hurt and it broke my heart. He was such a trooper, though, and never once let on how much pain he was in.

He spent several weeks at my house while th efirst surgery he had didn't take. My roommate and I worked as hard and as best as we could to make sure he was being well taken care of. Unfortunately, his needs were beyond what we could take care of at home.

That's when Gramma Marilyn came in the picture. Without hesitation, she TOLD me to bring him down to her. I had him in her care the next day. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, when I carried him back into the Ortho's pre-op area one of the tech's asked me what his name was and I couldn't get his name out cuz I started blubbering like a baby. I'm getting teary-eyed right now just thinking about it.

Again, a HUGE thank you to Marilyn, her vets and Jaimie and her family for doing for Roper what was needed.

Love you guys =)

Marilyn--- We've spoken extensively about how Roper was when he was here. I'm so glad that he is in his new home! I love seeing how happy he is!!! When we work together as a team is when it all happens.

Thanks Jaime!!
