Greyhound Adoptions of Florida - Latest Forum Posts http://ahome4greys.org/forum en-us RE: Remebering Bob - Christina Salluzzo
Thinking of you today, Bob. We miss you. The love everyone and everyhound had for you here on earth is matched only by the love of every dog who is running free "upstairs" with you to guide them. Speck and I send our love to you from "downstairs." Please take good care of our Gino boy. We'll make sure Marilyn and all the hounds down here are taken care of, too.

Love,
Chrissy and Speck
Fri, 05 Dec 2008 14:17:07 -0600 http://ahome4greys.org/forum/message/3893 /forum/message/3893 RE: Are you going to GAF Holiday Picnic? - Marilyn
I sure hope so!!
Marilyn will be there.....ALL DAY!!
Tue, 02 Dec 2008 17:14:30 -0600 http://ahome4greys.org/forum/message/3868 /forum/message/3868 Are you going to GAF Holiday Picnic? - Dave McG
Anyone going to GAF holiday picnic this year?
Tue, 02 Dec 2008 16:13:08 -0600 http://ahome4greys.org/forum/message/3865 /forum/message/3865 RE: Holiday memories - Kathy Diemer
Well, I will always miss my Nancy no matter what time of the year. Nancy was 10 1/2 when her lucky moment came and Marilyn and Bob rescued her from that nasty breeding farm she had been on for years. Nancy was a subdued personality who just did her turn outs and back to her crate at the farm according to the lady that helped get her out of there...but my oh my, she was quite the opposite when she became a family member!

Nancy had a way to make everyone laugh...she loved living life...for the first time ever in her life and she never looked back. She insisted on going everywhere with me and did a crazy, howling, stomping dance to assure me she needed to go. And our favorite stop quickly became Dunkin Donuts. I would get back to the car with donuts in bag...and Nancy would be ready with her head resting on my arm and Stevie was right there with his head resting on my shoulder. And mom obliged and donuts were enjoyed...many times over :)

My funniest memory of Nancy was at a meet and greet at petsmart one saturday afternoon. A lady approached with her baby in the stroller and before she could ask or I could say okay....Nancy bee lined it to the stroller in an oh so happy way! I thought..."oh how nice...she likes kids...that's always cute"....next thing I knew Nancy's face dove into the corner of the stroller seat...she plucked out an animal cracker....then she turned and trotted off to the doggie beds and plopped down to eat her found treasure! The lady and I just laughed...how could you not! Nancy always knew an opportunity when she saw one...just like the day Marilyn and Bob rescued her from the farm.

My Nancy...always in my heart and my thoughts :)

Thu, 27 Nov 2008 17:07:44 -0600 http://ahome4greys.org/forum/message/3831 /forum/message/3831 RE: Remebering Bob - Marilyn
No holiday season is complete without a message to Bob:

Remembering all the wonderful years that we spent with so many greyhounds!
Wishing you were still here to continue what you did best....caring for the dogs and watching each of them go off to it's new family and start a life.
We will continue but, of course, it will never be the same. I know there are hundreds and hundreds of greyhounds out there sending you loving holiday greetings...

From all of us here at Grey Haven
Mon, 17 Nov 2008 19:33:50 -0600 http://ahome4greys.org/forum/message/3677 /forum/message/3677 RE: Holiday memories - Marilyn
Courteny.....you have no idea how much it means to all of us at GAF to know that Kate is going to have the best "first" Chrismas of her life! This is what it's all about for each of us who has worked with the dogs for so many years. And this is how you create the best memories in the world.
Ask Jaimie to tell you Jennifer's story....it's an amazing one and because of Jennifer's travels, we now count Jaimie as one of our best friends.
It doesn't get any better than this!
Mon, 17 Nov 2008 19:28:01 -0600 http://ahome4greys.org/forum/message/3676 /forum/message/3676 RE: Holiday memories - Courtney Carletti
It is interesting that you post this topic. This will be our first christmas with our new and first greyhound Kate. I look forward to making it a great christmas with her. She already has a stocking and I can not wait to see what she thinks of the tree. As far as I know this will be the first christmas she celebrates with "all of the trimmings." We have already purchased a few gifts and I can not wait to spend the holidays with her. Just as you have, Jaimie, I will remember her as our first greyhound once she is gone, but now I just look forward to all of the holidays ahead!
Mon, 17 Nov 2008 18:00:05 -0600 http://ahome4greys.org/forum/message/3675 /forum/message/3675 RE: Holiday memories - Jaimie
It's been more than three years since I lost my Jennifer, and she has been on my mind a lot lately. I miss my beautiful girl with her stinky, face-cleaning kisses. She was my first greyhound, and I couldn't have had a better guide into the wonderful world of this very special breed. Because of her, I will always have room in my heart and my home for these incredible dogs. I love you, pretty Jenn Jenn.
Sun, 16 Nov 2008 20:30:03 -0600 http://ahome4greys.org/forum/message/3664 /forum/message/3664 Holiday memories - Marilyn
As we busy ourselves making holiday preparations, it often hits us at odd times that this will be the first holiday without one of our beloved greyhounds.
Please take some time and sit down and share a memory or two with us about that special dog.

No holiday is complete without memories of years past. Let's remember together.

This is for my lovely girls, Buffy and Honey......how I will miss you both this holiday season.
Sun, 16 Nov 2008 19:11:16 -0600 http://ahome4greys.org/forum/message/3662 /forum/message/3662 RE: Pups today November 7 - Marilyn
It was much too short a visit! We're looking at 20% increases for natural gas and heating oil for 2008-2009 Winter.

"The federal Energy Information Administration makes regional predictions on how much homeowners will pay to heat their homes with heating oil or natural gas this winter.

According to the administration, the average homeowner in the Northeast can expect to pay $1,353 this winter for natural gas, 19.5 percent more than last year. The administration projects the average homeowner to pay $2,602 this winter for heating oil, a 20.9 percent jump from 2007."

http://www.phillyburbs.com/pb-dyn/news/112-09212008-1594139.html

Sun, 21 Sep 2008 17:44:21 -0500 http://ahome4greys.org/forum/message/3155 /forum/message/3155 Pick me up off the floor - Diane L.
